Westview Doors Ltd. Warranty Policy
All products manufactured and distributed by Westview Doors Ltd. are warranted as per the sales agreement under the following conditions:
1. Lifetime limited warranty on unpainted vinyl patio doors
- A lifetime warranty, beginning on the date of delivery, applies to unpainted PVC vinyl extrusions used to manufacture products for Westview Patio Doors.
- The warranty protects against peeling, buckling, blistering, cracking, and major uneven discoloration.
- Westview Doors will replace and install any defective parts at no charge for customers within the Greater Vancouver Area and Fraser Valley.
- Subject to exceptions listed in the section titled “Exceptions”.
2. Lifetime limited warranty on insulated (glass) sealed units
- A lifetime warranty, beginning on the date of delivery, applies to insulated glass sealed units against film formation or dust deposits between glass panes (caused by seal failure).
- Lifetime warranty applies to original owner for non-transferable residential use.
- For all subsequent owners, a ten-year warranty from original purchase date applies.
- A ten-year warranty applies for multi-residential, institutional or commercial use.
- Spontaneous glass breakage on the interior of the sealed unit panes.
- Subject to exceptions listed in the section titled “Exceptions”.
3. Five-year limited warranty on painted vinyl patio doors
- A five-year warranty protects against any excessive or uneven change in luster.
- Subject to exceptions listed in the section titled “Exceptions”.
4. Ten-year limited warranty on hardware
- A five-year warranty, beginning on the date of delivery, protects any manufacturing defects of hardware including: tandem rollers, mortise handles on the operating panel, and weather stripping.
- A one-year warranty applies to screen hardware and all other parts including handles and their finish.
- Nylon or aluminum screen mesh is not covered by warranty.
- Subject to exceptions listed in the section titled “Exceptions”.
5. One-year limited warranty
- A one-year warranty, beginning on the date of delivery, applies to all labour and transportation costs within the Greater Vancouver Area and Fraser Valley.
Exceptions
This warranty is rendered void if:
- Installation does not comply with the required instructions sheet or which does not respect best practices, including rough handling of the product by any third party.
- Any damage caused by abuse, negligence, vandalism, natural disasters, or inadequate maintenance.
- Water infiltration not caused by product defect.
- Defect or damage caused by poor control of temperature or ventilation, or condensation caused by excessive humidity in the building.
- Defect or damage caused by inadequate adjustment of the sliding panel(s) or screen(s), including poor installation by any third party.
- Discoloration of surfaces caused by:
- Exposure to sources of excessive heat
- Exposure to chemical or corrosive materials
- Use of inappropriate cleaners or solvents
- Air and water infiltration for a product is not glazed or assembled by Westview Doors
- Doors are repaired or modified by a party other than Westview Doors or its representative window manufacturer.
- Westview Doors reserves the right to refuse replacement of blinds if damage is caused by abuse.
- If the customer has any overdue accounts with Westview Doors.
